This is Gilly, an arab mare. Took these yesterday. She was very well-behaved – Jackie has her horses well trained. The weather co-operated too – it was a nice clear evening, not too cold.

Shetland Ponies

These are a couple of Jackie’s Shetland Ponies – Crystal and Chloe. Took these yesterday evening. I enjoy playing at being a horse / equine photographer.

Jackie’s arena is a great location for photography – it’s in quite an open setting with rolling hills in the background. There was some light rain so I had to clone out a few spots in some of these photographs.

Fariesh is my sister-in-law’s arab gelding. I took these photos last week. It was a good night for it – cool, clear. Although he’s normally quite a spooky horse, Fariesh behaved well for most of the session, though he did bolt at one point, which spooked me as I was standing right in front of him.

Dabbling with macro photography again – this time a ring. Not easy to get right – I had hoped for more sparkle on the stone but this was the best I got with the lighting I had.

Out and about today. Took a few snaps of Jackie’s arab, Gilly. It was pretty overcast and already getting dark by the time I finished (About 4:15pm). The weather was reasonable for this time of year – not much wind and just a few sprinkles of rain, which had me throwing my jacket over the light to keep the moisture out. Reasonably happy with these, the best of about 50 pics I took over the space of 20 minutes or so.
